Come and join us for dinner, drinks, and dancing at this year's Taste of Life event happening at the beautiful Sheraton Keauhou Resort!
This year, the Hawaii Island HIV/AIDS Foundation is celebrating over 20 YEARS of caring for the Big Island!
100% of the proceeds are dedicated to making programs and services possible for people with HIV/AIDS on the Big Island.
HIHAF generously provides:
-a FOOD PANTRY which offers canned goods and toiletries
-MEDICAL ASSISTANCE in which Case Managers link clients to health care and life-saving medications
-FINANCIAL assistance where Case Managers assist clients in applying for financial benefits
-PREVENTION EDUCATION, COUNSELING, & OUTREACH to thousands in the community
-HIV RAPID TESTING where results are available in 15 minutes
Each year the HIV infection rates continue to grow notwithstanding wide spread prevention efforts. Unfortunately, with the growth of infection rates, more and more people are in need of services. Because of the stigma related to this disease, individuals infected with HIV are often treated with hostility by the community and sadly, their families. Our job is to focus on prevention of new cases and care for those already infected. In the process, we hope to minimize the stigma, create community awareness, and provide those already infected with the best possible medical care available. Our annual fundraising event serves a dual purpose - to remind our community that HIV/AIDS is still prevalent, and that people living with HIV/AIDS deserve our compassion and care!
