A sub political story of monarchy restoration and legalization of island gaming is interwoven into a mystery featuring recipes from the top chefs and restaurants from the Big Island, and offers a tour of the island in search of a hidden war club. Local artists featured with artwork, music and culture. Not your normal novel.

A portion of book sales proceeds is being contributed to The Food Basket, Inc., program, a part of the Hawaiian Food Bank.

Author comments on upcoming visit

I look forward to the upcoming island tour and hope to have a chance to meet people interested in a fun read. Those picking up the book should realize that one of my writing concepts is called a 'Quest Mystery', where I go around and hide imaginary murder weapons, hide the clues on location in my writing, and then pay a cash prize for the finder. Nothing Is As It Seems. In my previous mystery, Vegas Die, a hidden dagger worth $25,000 turned out to be a book mark of a dagger secreted in a library art book, next to a picture of a French revolutionary being stabbed in his bathtub. On the Big Island there is a war club worth $5,000 when found. And that is only one of the aspects of Captain Cooked. Hope to say Aloha to you who drop by the book stores.
