Big Island Hawaii Restaurants: McDonald's, Fast Food

It is actually rumored that if you eat a McDonald's Hamburger while vacationing in Hawaii, you will become cursed for your stay.

Well, your trip might not be spoiled, but you will not be doing your body a favor AT ALL.

The factories on the mainland that manufacture all the foodstuff for the chains out here have to jack up the food with more preservatives (as if they did not have enough in them already) just so it can make it on the 7-14 day trip it takes for the Matson tugboats to pull it across the Pacific Ocean, not to mention the extra couple of days it takes to bring it from Ohio/Illinois to the shipping docks in California.

Also, for whatever reason it is, I noticed in the past that Hawaii gets all the gristly chicken patties...What would be all white meat on the mainland is kinda grayish here and has some veins/gristle in it.

If you want to get away from the mainland for a while, don't you also want to get away from those fast-food chains as well? Try some sushi, kalua pork (mesquite smoke flavored pulled pork), Taro or Poi, poke, mahi mahi, or try any of these with a mix plate~two scoops rice and one mac salad! (or brown rice and tossed greens of you prefer, featured at L&L's, Hawaii's original Barbeque)
