I am moving to the Big Island in the near future and will not have a car. So, I will be relying on the buses to get me around Kea'au and Hilo. I have seen the bus schedule website, but it isn't very helpful as to where the stops are between the major landmarks. For example, the bus between Pohoiki, Pahoa and Hilo lists a stop in Kea'au as simply "Kea'au". I have already emailed the Hele-On Transit people and they haven't responded.
My question is, are there stops all along the Kea'au-Pahoa Road (130) and the Kanoelehua Ave (11)? Thanks for any help regarding using the (awesomely FREE) bus system on the Big Island.

answer: Most of the time, if you are on a Hele-On route and you flag them down from the street, they will pick you up. Oh, and it's not free anymore, it costs a Dollar to ride the bus. Become a people watcher and look for the clusters of them waiting for a bus.
