Dishonest Politician on Verge of Reelection? Enriques most dangerous politician in generations?
Honesty most important “issue”

Mail- in absentee voting has started and Council 6 community leaders are concerned. One of these is Richard Creagan, M.D., a community leader defamed by Mr. Enriques in the “CDP-Gate” scandal. Creagan stated: “Former congressman Ed Case has stated that Mufi Hanneman may be the most dangerous politician in a generation for the state of Hawaii. In my opinion G.B. Enriques is the most dangerous politician that Council 6 has seen for many generations.” When asked to compare Enriques to former council member Robert (Bob) Jacobson, Creagan stated, “Jacobson was a good person who became, in the view of many of his most ardent supporters, too arrogant. He was dangerous to the extent that he allowed his views on issues to polarize the voters of Ka’u. The most dangerous thing Jacobson did is to allow wealthy developers to buy Enriques a seat on the council.”
Some community members have hoped that the current council election campaign could focus on issues. Creagan stated “Issues are important. There are three other qualified candidates in this race, Marie Burns, Maile David, and Brittany Smart that do want to focus on issues. At a recent forum in Keaau where all three were present there was a spirited discussion of the issues. Enriques ducked this forum. Creagan continued, “Issue oriented discussions among candidates assume that candidates are honest and ethical. Enriques has shown a pattern of dishonesty and unethical behavior throughout his adult life. Why should anyone believe anything this man says? In my view THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IN THIS CAMPAIGN IS HONESTY!”
Enriques Version of Honesty:
At public meeting: “I did not TAKE developer’s money!”
After meeting to supporter: “I didn’t take money from developers; they GAVE it to me” (Snicker, snicker)
