TRAVELER REVIEWS WE HAVE RECEIVED OR FOUND ON WEB SITES REGARDING OUR UNITS

Traveler rating: 3.9 out of 4 stars Gene and Mary G. Kailua-Kona: Kona Islander Inn: "Very Happy with Room 329 We just returned from a wonderful week in Kona (returned on October 24th, 2010) and stayed in Room 329. According to other reviews this is a hit and miss lodging, depending on the unit, because each unit is owned by individuals that may or may not keep their units clean and updated. All I can say is we were very happy with room 329 with an oceanview the total cost INCLUDING taxes came to $662.00 for 7 nights, and it's easy to visit all the great restaurants and great sunset watering holes in town quite easily by foot. For the value, you can't beat it... my biggest complaint is the lack of parking, there is very limited parking, and if you are not nestled into a space by 5pm, you can pretty much forget about parking on the premises for the night. There is some limited parking on the street and across the street from the inn (both diaganolly on the grass. The office also told us we could park next door in the parking lot for one of the small shopping centers. We did not have to use that option... but be aware parking is a problem! There is no maid service (which is no big deal), but just be aware of that fact, keep the bed neat and the towels on the rack for the next day. Conclusion, we were happy with Room 329! The noise from the street was not as bad as some have described, as a matter of fact the sound of the ocean waves is the predominant (and peaceful) sound we heard.

Traveler rating:4 **** Kailua-Kona: Kona Islander Inn: "above average" A TripAdvisor Member, Hi july 19, 2010 My husband and I stayed ocean view in room #327 and it was very clean and well kept. Its so nice to just walk out the front door in any direction and have it all at your finger tips. Its pretty small but who needs a lot of room. It fits a couple just fine. Traveler rating:4**** Kailua-Kona: Kona Islander Inn: "Beautiful Kona" Jul 3, 2007 The Kona Islander Inn is a simple yet delightful hotel/apartment complex in Kailua-Kona. My wife and I have stayed there for several weeks while on vacation in Hawai'i. The Kailua Kona Vacation Rental Units themselves are small and simple, but all are clean and have all the facilities we wanted. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. It is well located just a few minutes walk from the center of Kona and close to shops, a great ocean-side bar and the Wyland gallery of marine art.We look forward to going again.
