Where on the Big Island is the best place for a mainland family to relocate to?

Hello David

My family wants to move to the Big Island or Kauai.

We have done alot of research, but of course we would like as much input as possible.

We live in Los Angeles, and want to leave this mess behind.

My wife and I have a 16 month old daughter, and we don't want to raise her here. It just a terrible place for a new family.

My wife and I want to give it all up and live a peaceful, simple, quiet life.

We have a friend here that lived in Honokaa, so she suggested the Big Island. My wife and I actually like Kauai, but we are not sure what's best.

We prefer "country" lifestyle instead of the big city life. So Kona didn't sound like the spot.

Any suggestions David?

Big Island or Kauai?

and where?

Thanks a million for any help you could give me on this.

Aloha Jason~ No matter where you go, there is always drama, however it is nice to start new and keep your nose clean. Puna/Orchidland is a good bet, but don't send your baby to Pahoa (send them to Kea'au)school. LOL
Kailua Kona is okay, but it is developing too fast and everyone is crazy territorial...people can hear you flush your toilet, that is how close and clustered the houses are. Hilo is a good place to move to as well, great shopping schools and dining. I've never been to Kauai, I hope to go there soon. One of the many facets to this
heavenly archipelago. Come prepared to pay extra for items, as we pay for shipping and handling for goods to come over the ocean to here. Aloha Jason.
