Big Island Candy: How Sweet It Is!
Big Island Candy not only comes in all shapes and forms, there is a huge diversity in the quality of the candy, and time spent making these tasty little treats.
In Hawaii we have hand made candies and chocolate, the infamous chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts that you can find in every store in Hawaii, and then we even have chocolate that is grown here, processed here, and sold on site at the factory.
The Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory
The most unique Big Island Candy, is simply chocolate. If you are asking what is so unique about chocolate, the answer is that this chocolate is made from cocoa beans that were grown and processed on site.
This makes it the only chocolate in the United States that can make that claim. The Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory is estate chocolate made by the grower, sold by the grower.

Chocolate Covered Macadamia Nuts
The Big Island is the main producer of Macadamia Nuts in Hawaii, but a lot of the candies with Macadamia Nuts in them are not made on the Big Island.
We support people that make true Big Island Candy, and that is why we showcased the first two companies.
Out of the major manufacturers of chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts we prefer Hawaiian Host. Producing fine candies in the islands for over eighty years, Hawaiian Host has a reputation for quality. They are also involved in the community, and have a charitable organization of their own they support.
The Kona Chocolate Festival
Once a year in the early spring, Kona hosts a Gala event that you don't want to miss. I have been going to this festival since it started seven years ago, and my wife and I look forward to it every year.
